32 WeEks!!!

Ok I am at 32 weeks and starting to get really Anxious to meet my little boy!!! I have been working on his room like craczy and I have made his bumpers and his baby quilt. I am now currently working on a fitted sheet for his crib but I am not really understanding the instructions so I am taking a break. I Have decided that I am doing his room in Monkeys....I love it!!! Above is his crib with the bumpers and his quilt draped of the side.

HERe is another pic of the baby quilt that I made!! My Mom helped me coordinate all the fabrics together as I am incapable in that department. She also helped me cut all the fabric for the quilt and for the bumpers.
Below is a pic of me at 32 weeks!!! YAY!!! I feel huge but I still have 8 weeks left so I am sure it is only going to get worse (or I am going to get bigger!) But I feel good most days! I can't wait to hold my little Monkey in my arms and kiss his cheeks!

Baby Boy Jax

So It has been awhile. I am terrible at this but i want to get better!!! I just need to do it!!! Anyways we have done Christmas, and New Yeats since my last post and I must take a minute to say they were both AMAZING!!! We had a wonderful Christmas and got to see all of our families! We spent Christmas Eve and day with the Smith side then the day after Christmas we went down to Payson and saw the Armstrong's. Boy did we get spoiled from all directions. And so did Jax! and he is not even here yet!
Before we left for Christmas Shane surprised me one day by painting the baby's room! It was so sweet of him and so nice to have it down. When we got back from Christmas all we had to do was do a little touch up paint and we were good to go.
The Tuesday after Christmas We set up the crib that I have had to stare at for a month in a box! It was so much fun to put it together. It also came with a dresser/changing table that we had to build as well. Below are some pics of his room!

As you can see we are going to name him Jax. It is the one boy name that we can both whole hearted agree on. We are also going to do his room in Monkeys. At first I thought it was going to be easy but I am having the hardest time finding fabric!!! Below is a pic of the dresser with all of his stuffed animals, as well as the rocking chair we got from my parents.

and here is a pic of me. I am 27 weeks today (and still need to post ultra sound pics). 13 weeks left to go!!! I feel like there is so much we still have to do and to buy!! But little by little we will get it all! We cannot wait until he is here!

Well hopefully the next post will take place before he is born! I will try my hardest to get ultra sound pics up with in a week or so.

It's a BOY

So I must say that it is really weird post a pic of me....Blogger.com is being super slow right now and will not up load any more pics than one at a time and I just want to be done blogging for the night.
First, I am showing!!! YAY!!!! I still think it is more fat than anything else but still....I at least look pregnant!
Second, IT'S A BOY!!! We were able to go to the doctor on Wednesday and I wasn't scheduled for an ultra sound but I asked them if they had time to do one real quick to see if they could see what it was. There was no guessing with this little guy!!!! He was spread eagle with his bum right at the top of my belly!!! Now I must say that I was convinced that it was a girl, so I was a little surprised when I saw that it was a boy!! We seriously couldn't be more excited! The last 5 babies in our family have been boys! We will add one more in the mix!! I am so excited that this little guy with have 2 boy cousins to rough house with!!!

Other than baby talk we really have had a lot going on! We did a 5k race last Saturday, we have had Christmas parties (yes already) and work out the WAZOO!!! We are looking forward to Thanksgiving and having the whole Armstrong clan down to our place! YAY!!! Life is good! Life is great!!!

Missionary and So so so Much More.....

So we sent Andrew off to the MTC last Wednesday. I must say I think that was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do! But it was also a very proud moment for our family! Our family has come a very long way spiritually (for those of you who know us). No one would have ever thought that any one in the Smith family would ever even come close to the MTC. Andrew bless his heart is the biggest sweet heart I know and I already miss him every single day! I constantly want to text him to see how he is doing and I can't!!! The people of Guatemala are getting a very special boy and they better take care of him! Better yet, they better be prepared for him!

Below is a picture of my Mom and Andrew and it is SSOOO Sweet! This was right as we dropped him off at the curb and had literally 5 seconds to say good bye!

Here are the proud parents!! You done good Mom and Dad! Now you just have to wait for 2 years for him to come home! He will be an awesome missionary!

A very sweet picture of Max and Andrew....I think that Andrew will miss these boys more than anyone! The love their uncle "Wandrew". I get all teary eyed thinking about it! They were so sweet and I don't think they even know how long 2 years is.

Everyone minus Brando who came to the MTC with Andrew to send him off. Some sweet sister missionaries took the picture for us so we could all be in it!

Andrew and I, and Max and Dad some how snuck their way into the picture. Oh I am going to miss this boy!

This is the More part, Andrew left on Shane's birthday, so we really had no choice but to throw him a birthday part while we were all up there together. Shane has never experience a Smith birthday family party. I think he liked it!

I baked him a spice cake.....Needless to say, my cake writing skills are starting to fade. But I thought it was pretty good for only one trial run.

And finally, the so Much more. This will be a testament to how many people actually even read my blog (which I don't think is very many), but still, I don't plan to announce on facebook until later but....Shane and I are expecting!!!! Yes we are pregnant!!!! Finally! It has been a very long difficult raoad for us and we have been trying for a while. We finally are confidant enough to announce it to everyone. We have told all of our family and most of our friends. Now everyone in the world can get on my blog and see that WE ARE PREGNANT!!!
My official due date is April 8th, 2012. I am at 13 weeks right now (1 week away from my second trimester). We were able to go to the doctor on Sept 14th and see that all was well with our little Bean (what we are calling it till we know what it is). We are so excited to be parents and we feel like this is long over due!
This is a picture of me at 13 weeks. No forgive me for not looking 100% done up. It was late Sunday night and we remembered. So I re arranged my pony tail and made sure my shirt was clean and away we went with the pic. I am not so much showing and I can no longer suck my fat in. I feel that in the next couple weeks it will be baby. Hopefully the next picture I will look better!
We do have an ultra sound pic but I am going to have to take the time to scan it and upload it...which I will, just not today.

Cascade Falls

Shane and I both had the 25th of July off (in celebration of July 24th), this is a unusual event so we decided to make the best of it. We were at home laying on the couch when Shane ask if I wanted to go on a hike. It have been forever since we have been hiking so I was on board. We decided to hit Cascade Falls up by Navajo Lake. This was the first time that I had ever done this hike, needless to say I was impressed. It is a fairly easy hike, there is a well worn trail, but you get going on it and it is like a straight shot down on one side, and on the other it is straight up. It was a beautiful hike. We got to the falls and here is the pic!

Shane and I's famous picture we take of ourselves. It was seriously such a nice day. It was a little warm but there were black clouds rolling in. By the time we got done with the hike it had started to rain and thus cool off a little bit.

Luckily, we were able to find some on to take our pic together at this look out. I am grateful for nice people!

This isn't of the hike, but it is proof that we hit up Groovefest this year. We didn't stay for long but it was still way fun. Always love the music! My aunt Chantal and Uncle Brian were down here for the weekend, so we got to meet up with them. We also got the chance to what my cousin Wyatt play baseball and have Emily spend the night.

I must admit that this summer has been pretty amazing! There have been some rough spots, but overall we have had a blast, we got to go on one big vacation, as well as many small spectacular ones. We have downsized to being a two car family!!! We sold the Bigone and my Pontiac and we were able to buy a newer truck. That made it easier for us to be able to go us to the cabin more. We have spent quite a few weekend up there (that to come in a later post). My little brother also got his mission call so we were able to go through the temple with him. He leaves in a week and a half and we will be able to go to his fairwell as well as see him off at the MTC. I think we could both agree that life is good!

Welcome back to my never changing blog! I am not going to even try and explain why I don't do it any more....but I am blogging now, so beware!
So this Summer we got the wonderful opportunity to go to San Diego (thanks to My Mom and Dad!) Andrew will be leaving on his mission in 2 weeks and so we decided that it was the perfect time to go on vacation as a family once before he leaves. This shot is of the beach as soon as we got out of the car. Don't judge cause we had been in the car for over 8 hours! Luckily it was just Shane and I and so we got plenty of time to relax and talk and enjoy!

This Piece of Pizza was seriously the BIGGEST piece of pizza I have ever seen! It was also the best! It was ssoooo good and I think it was only $2.50 a slice Not bad for a meal! I had Shane put his hand next to it to show the size but it really doesn't do it justice. This is Shane holding a starfish at Sea World. I must say Sea World was a blast! There were so many people there! We probably should have spent more than just a day there but it was fun!

No this is not some dreamy place on the beach we found and decided to take a picture. This is what we woke up to every morning, and the last thing we saw every night before we went to sleep. That's right, this is a view from our balcony from the condo that we stayed in! It was amazing! The best part was that all you had to do was walk down the stairs and walk right out to the beach. We also go tot see Dolphins swimming almost every morning. The condo complex also had a sweet swimming pool and hot tub (which we soaked up every night). Shane and I still have dreams about living there. One day maybe.

Dunno What it is, but every picture that we took in San Diego of us, looks like we are stoned. It is probably because we are so super relaxed we appeared that way. I dunno if my husband has ever gotten so much sleep in his life! This was on our nightly walks on the beach. With the lovely Imperial Pier in the back ground.

Finally Shane and I on the Imperial Pier on our final night, or what we call BONUS NIGHT, now not for the reason you may think. Originally my parents had told us that we had the condo from Saturday night to Thursday night and we had to be out Friday by 11am. Well Thursday afternoon while Shane and I were at the BEAUTIFUL San Diego Temple, My Dad text me and said we can stay another night. Needless to say, they had read the contract wrong and we didn't have to leave until Saturday morning. So we got one more wonderful day of this place! We had a blast with our family and I think that it is a good way to send Andrew on his mission, now if we can keep up this blogging, there is much much more to come from this summer!

2 YEARS!

Shane and I have made it to two years! I cannot believe it! We were kinda boring at celebrating it this year. Since our anniversary was on a Sunday we mostly relaxed and then I surprised Shane with HUGE steaks and HUGE potatoes! We then went on a Sunday drive and ate some strawberry shortcake. I cannot even begin to say how grateful I am for my wonderful husband! He seriously takes such good care of me and I love him so much! I have known him for 6 years now and I have no idea how I got through life before him!

Slacker

Ok so I am a Major Slacker....I need to blog more but I don't ever feel like I have anything to blog about...Shane and I live a pretty boring life! We go to and from work everyday. Saturdays we clean house or work in the yard and Sundays we go to church and sleep all day. Regardless....I need to be better at it!

We just had a wonderful weekend with the Armstrong side of the family. Don, Ruth and Shannon cam down this weekend and stayed at our house. They came on Thursday and left today (Sunday). I got to spend some time with them and it was way fun! Shannon and I went shopping, all of us went to Sonny Boy's (they best place ever) as well as Rusty's (Not all in the same night). I thoroughly enjoyed their time here.

Now I have to take a Moment to give a "shout out" if you will to My mother-in-law!!! She is one of the strongest women I have ever met! She is very sick and needs a kidney transplant. When we find a kidney for her this will be her 2nd transplant. For right now she has to go on Dialysis. We are all hoping that this will make her feel better and hoping even harder for a kidney. Even though she is sick, She still finds the strength to come to Cedar, visit/put up with us!!! She also has an amazing sense of humor about the whole thing. Ruth You are amazing and We love and pray for you every night.

Most of you that read our blog know that I am in the Cub Scout program. Yesterday was our scout expo and it was so much fun! It was finally nice outside and was a beautiful day!

For know this is all I have but I am making it a point to Blog more often! Once every 2 weeks at least!!!

SO this last week we celebrated my 24th birthday!!! WOW!!! I cannot believe i am not 17 anymore! Anyways....I think that is was pretty much the best birthday ever!!!! I have no pictures to prove!!! The day started out as normal, Got up, went to work, yaddiya......I came home for lunch and Shane made me close my eyes....he then put some money in my hand (from him and my parents) and said these are for you new Nike's that you have been wanting!!! YAY!!! I was so super excited! I thien went back to work where I was sitting at my desk doing my regular old Monday stuff, when all of the sudden my boss (also the owner of the company) comes in and says " Paige, I need to talk to you" and it was not in a nice tone! He sounded so made!!!! So i follow him down the hall into the conference room......the whole time I am thinking "I am so getting canned on my birthday!" We turn the corner to go into the conference room and lo and behold there is my husband along with 15 other people I work with....singing happy birthday!!!! (totally speechless at this point and bright red in the face). There was also a HUGE cake there....marbled cake with raspberry filling!!!! YUM!!!!! After I got home from work Shane Surprised me with a Nintendo Wii (i have wanted one FOREVER)!!!! He then took me to this new BBQ place I have been DYING to try called Sonny Boy's BBQ and it was AMAZING! We then came home and played the Wii till our arms were about to fall off!!! Yay it was amazing!

Upcoming in the Armstrong Family (hopefully there will be pics?) We are training for a triathlon!!! Now before you think I am crazy (which I am) It is just a mini Triathlon!!! But I am so excited!! This will take place on April 9th, 2011. It is set up so cool! You have to run on the Treadmill for 25 mins, Bike for 25 mins and swim for 10 mins! Shane and I joined in on a friendly wager with a co-worker to see who can win so it will make it more interesting. We are also looking forward to the warm weather so can plant flowers and a garden. We are right in the middle of what we call "birthday season". EVERY week to 10 days there is a birthday!!! We miss our family so my much and wish that we could be there for each and everyones birthday!

RIP Grandpa Dodge

Ok so I haven't blogged since October! I am terrible! But I feel that tonight is a time to blog. Shane and I just got home from Roy and it was a bitter sweet visit. My Grandpa Dodge was diagnosed with Stomach cancer on Devember 17th, 2010, after his ever short, intense battle we lost him January 17th. That was our bitter sweet visit. This weekend was his funeral and our family laid our Grandfather to rest. Grandpa lived a good life and was a good man and he will be missed. He would have been 73 years old on June 17th of this year. Him and my Nana would have celebrated there 50th anniversary on August 25th of this year. This whole experience has been heart wrenching and breaking. It also has been a very spiritual experience. Grandpa got to tell us all the he loved us and that he will miss us before he left us. He is now out of pain and in a better place which I am grateful for.
This past month has been so hard on all of my family that I want to take this opportunity to tell them that I love them all and that I have the best family in the world. I know that not many people read my blog but I think it is important to make it public. We will miss you Grandpa and we love you! You are now our angel watching over us!!!

DISNEY LAND 2010

Me, Mickey and Shane!!!

So Shane and I got back from our Disneyland/California trip about a week and a half ago!! and I must say that it was awesome!! I have been totally excited about blogging about it but I have yet to have a chance!! So here we go!
Above is a picture of the San Diego temple! This is a BEAUTIFUL Temple! This is the Temple that Shane got to go to on his Mission! I am super jealous! We didn't do a session here we just walked around outside! But this is seriously most breath taking temple I have EVER seen!!!

This picture is in front of the Newport Beach Temple. It was also amazing! We did do a session here and it was so much fun! We got to meet the temple president!

I have to put this picture on here because I LOVE the boys with Tinkerbell!!! It was so awesome to meet her!!! But seriously these boys look so studly especially the one in the gray shirt!! But I think I may be a bit bias!

Here is the Disneyland bunch just inside the gates at Disneyland. The weather was so gray and rainy the whole time that we were there and this pic if funny cause we are wearing shorts and panchos at the same time!

Shane, Sully, and I !! and may I say that Sully is freaking awesome!!! I gave him a big hug when we went up for pics! After that he didn't want Shane it the pics!! Watch out Shane our your out and Sully will sneak in!

Finally A pic of Shane and i and his beard at La Jolla Beach after we had been playing in the waves all afternoon. La Jolla beach is beautiful and Shane and Dane got to swim with Seals! We ate dinner at this really Yummy place just off the beach and drank hot chocolate!! We love vacation and want to permanently reside in Disneyland!

Shane's Big 30 Surprise Party!

So since July I have been trying and trying to figure out what to get Shane for his birthday. I swear men are the hardest people in the world to shop for. I also wanted to give Shane an awesome birthday because last year I had my apendix out just a few days before his birthday and I wasn't able to get him all his present...and I laid on the couch all day. So it was the middle of August when we had a nice TV come into the pawn shop...BINGO!!! I put it on layaway and he was done shopping for. Well two weeks before his birthday I decided it would be fun to throw him a surprise party....it wasn't until the Tuesday before I decided that I wanted to do...that I had actually decided on when to do it. So I called and text all of our friends and BINGO!!! And everyone came!!! Thanks to every one that came!
Shane was totally surprised too! I picked him up from work that night and took him to dinner. I told him that we had to be home at 8 so I could watch dateline.....I couldn't think of anything else to tell him....so we hurried through dinner and booked it home! When we got home I made sure that he went it first. Every one was sitting so quietly in our living room, with the lights off. When Shane walked in he was calling for the cat "Snickers, Snickers?" and then the lights came on, and everyone popped their poppers and yelled SURPRISE!!!! It kinda scared me and I was expecting it! Shane was speechless!
So I decided to go little kid style and buy a pinata. Can I just say how much fun those things are even if you are an adult! We all were laughing and having so much fun! Above is Shane taking the first swing!

Little Ella was so cute! She wanted to do it all by herself. Hanna tried to help her but she refused! and she did really really good!
Finally the pinata was hit open and notice who is the one grabbing the most candy! THAYNE and DANE!!! Not the little kids!

On his actual birthday (September 21st) I made him sloppy joes for dinner and we made some cookie dough....and ate it...and thus ends Shane's Birthday celebration! I love him so much and i hope he had an awesome birthday!!!

So It has only been 3 weeks since the last blog!!! This summer has totally rocked! Here is a small glimpse of what we have been up too!

The sad ride home:( guess that every thing fun has to come to an end but we sure did enjoy our selves!

We spent part of labor day weekend up at the cabin. Shane's Dad was their and our friends Dane and Stephanie joined us up there! WE ate like KINGS!!!! had smores and sand Ku-bye-ah!!!
The rest of labor day weekend was spent at the Iron county fair and the Festival of homes!!! (AMAZING!!!) I just love going to fairs! They seriously have the best stuff there! I bought the cutest necklace for $5!!!!

We went to the demolition derby! It was out in Parowan and it was a blast! Before we went to the derby we went to the famous Hamburger Patty's!!! And it was a amazing. We went with some friends Stephanie, Thayne and Jenny, we also met up with our friends Tyrell and Janelle. The crowd was pack so we all sat in a tiny little area!!! But it was a blast!

Oreo Cookies

Ok so this picture does not do this cookie justice but it is the best I could do! I really don't know what to ever blog about and I was talking to my sister and she said that I should blog about crafts I do and things I bake....well I LOVE TO BAKE!!! so BINGO
This is a very simple recipe and I hope you enjoy!!!

2 Devils food cake mix
1 1/2 cup shortening
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla

Mix all of these ingredients together. (WARNING: the cookie dough is really thick and I have burnt up a few mixers just with these cookies so start out on low!!) Roll the dough into balls and cook at 350 for 12 mins (may very depending on oven!) Makes about 52 cookies

Now for the good stuff!!!

CrEaM cHeEsE fIlLiNg

1 8oz package of cream cheese
1/2 cup butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 lb powdered sugar (I never used this much!)

Mix the cream cheese and butter together. Add the vanilla. Begin adding powdered sugar until you like the taste. If you add the whole 1 lb then it makes a ton.
Spread the frosting between two cookies. Be sure to keep cookies refrigerated!!

A Little R&R

So Shane and I went to the new "Lake on the Hill" here in Cedar city. It really isn't much may I add. They claim that it is 11 acres of water. They have an area blocked off for swimming only and the rest of it is for fishing. Shane and I decided that we would make up for some list time together by packing a picnic lunch and heading up there. We get there and find a nice solitary place to lay out our blanket away from every one else. Enjoying a nice lunch/afternoon. So this is were I have to take the time to say how great full I am that we do not have children yet. Almost every one that was there, well at least all of the adults, had children there. While all of the other adults there were chasing there kids around, worrying about sunscreen, and yelling at them to not get the towels wet, Shane was completely dead to the world asleep, while I was completely enthralled with a book. Now I must say that is a good way to spend a day off!

Summer 2010 Catch up!

This picture was on the Fourth of July weekend and we have a on going (2 year) tradition that we spend it up at the cabin! We ate like kings and played games and had a blast!

So I don't know where to begin with all of the summer fun we have had!!! Shane and I went our our first camping trip together over the 24th of July weekend to fish lake!!! SO MUCH FUN! we met up with The Smith side of the family and it was a blast!!! Mom and dad brought the trailer and the Roudy Rodriguez's were there...what most can you ask for?

This is when Shane and I skipped out on church a couple of Sunday's ago and drove out to old Iron Town....It was so hot outside but is was so pretty and so much fun!!!
Shane and I met up with some friends of ours and went to the July Jamboree....It was so much fun and there were so many cool cars there!!! The Renaissance festival was going on at the same time and we got to see a camel....and we could have (didn't) rode it!!!

OnE yEaR!!!! Happy Anniversary!

So Shane and I just celebrated out 1 year anniversary!!...and holy cow did it go by so super fast!!! It seemed as if all we had to do was blink and it that first year was done!!!! but we celebrated in style!!! Our anniversary was on Saturday June 5 and we started by taking off to Vegas on the 4th. Now for the last few month we had been trying to decide what we were going to do for our anniversary and we finally decided that we were going to Vegas. We stayed at the Stratosphere (so much FUN!!!). Thi
s meant that we had the opportunity to ride the rides at the top...but don't worry we didn't( I was far to scared!!)!!!! We did however go to the top twice and looked out over Las Vegas! We also found this really cool diner inside of the Stratosphere called Roxy's diner..This place was so cool!! While you ate the waiters and waitresses sang and danced!!! It was a BLAST!!! We made a trip to the Las Vegas temple and we also got to go to the PAWN STARS pawn shop which was awesome!!!! I was a little star struck but it was fun!!!! We came home on Sunday but not before we stopped at Shane's Aunt's house for a very YUMMY dinner!!1 Thanks Bywaters!!!!

Cabin fun!

Memorial day weekend was a blast!!!! Shane's family (minus Shannon:( )came down and stayed with us and it was so much fun!!! To start off the weekend we introduced Shane's dad to the All American Classic Diner....and i must say that this is the BEST place to eat and it is very reasonably priced!!!! Saturday Shane and I both had to work but after words we went up to the cabin and spent a few hours up there helping get it ready for the summer. Sunday was an amazing day in Zion!!!! We did a few different hikes and spent a lot of time outside! (which i love!!!)! Then we came home and had a BBQ and played games...my new favorite is Wackee Sixes ( i think that is what it is called?) Monday concluded with a trip to the cemetery, Yard work, washing of the cars and relaxing. Here are a few random pics from the weekend!!!

New Roy High Almuni!!! 2010

First things first...Teresa and I are somewhat glad to announce that there is another Roy High Alumni in the Family....(dunno if that is a good thing or bad). Andrew graduate this past Wednesday (May 26Th, 2010) Shane and I were able to go up to Roy to attend this joyous occasion and it was so much fun!!! and can we just say that we so miss our families and not being able to see them all the time!!! Andrew was among the first to walk in his class because he is in the Royal Choir. After his graduation we all went to McDonald's and let the little one's run around and get their YA-YA's out. Shane and I were not even in Roy for 48 hours but we sure did have fun!!! Here are some random pics!

Long Time Coming

I'll admit it...and I know I have said it before....I am a horrible Blogger!!!! But I am Blogging about it!!! Too much has happened lately to blog about it all!!! Either that or not enough has happened to blog about...Anyways Since the last time I blogged....Easter....We made a trip up north for our nephew Max's FIRST birthday! And I cannot believe that he is 1 year old!
During the trip the WHOLE Smith side of the family ( Andrew wasn't there) But the rest of us were. We went to Boondocks and had some family fun!!! We also got to stop in and check in on the Armstrong side of the family!!!
Andrew graduates in a week and I cannot believe my little brother is all grown up!!!
Anyways, hopefully I will Blog better!!!

Easter

So unfortunately I am horrible at picture taking and so there is no pic along with this. I need to write to update our blog cause it has been awhile! We celebrated out first Easter together 2 weeks ago now and it was so much fun! It was also conference weekend the same weekend as Easter so that made it that much more special. I did the whole Shebang for Easter for Shane and can i say it was so much fun I can't wait to have kids!!! Saturday night before I went to sleep I put an Easter Basket out full of all kinds of goodies, I also hid a bunch of plastic eggs around the house that were filled with candy. Shane woke up the next morning and it seriously took him forever to realize what was going on but when he finally did he was so EXCITED!!! Then Shane and I made the best Easter dinner in the world complete with ham, and rolls!
Other that Easter not a lot has been going on at the Armstrong Household. Shane has been working like mad with his two job and our running has sorta gone out the window! Tomorrow we are leaving to go up north to visit both of our families and to celebrate little Max's birthday!

Moab half marathon

It's been a week now and I think that we are both almost healed from the race in Moab! I must say that I fell in love with Moab!!! I had never been there before and I want to got back really really bad!!! Here are a few pics from our mini vacation!We Spent a day and a half in Arches national Park!!! AMAZING!!!! it was totally awesome!!!! We were accompanied on the trip with Shane's parents!!! and we seriously had a blast!

Best Birthday EVER!!!

I have to start out by saying that I just celebrated my 23rd birthday and it was the best birthday in the WORLD!!! And it was a weekend of celebration!!! It all Started at about 4 pm on Friday (March 5th) when I am standing at work minding my own business...counting the minutes until it was 6 and all the sudden a customer walks in and rings the cow bell (yes there is a cow bell on the entrance of the pawn shop) really really loud and starts yelling HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! To my surprise it was my awesome sister and her family!!! Shane and my sister had got together and totally planned to surprise me with THEM for my birthday!!! After work that night we all went to the Pizza Factory for dinner and then came home and got to hang out!
Saturday Morning Shane and Brandon did a mini triathalon and Teresa, the boys and I went shopping and then went and watched them finish (They did excellent by the way)! We also went to the park where Xander and Max had so much fun running around and going down the slides. Saturday night Shane's sister was here. Shane made me a birthday cake and everyone sang happy birthday to me! It was the best!

March is the busiest time of the year for us it seems. This weekend we are having some friends from Texas coming to stay with us and Next weekend we are off to Moab!!! Lots to Blog about

Valentines Day/Koreans

Ok so January and February are off and to a great start!!! Our new year began with us being a host family for 2 Korean students, which was a total blast!!! Their names (Americanized of course) are MJ and Hanna.on the right is Hanna and in the middle is MJ. So they came the last week in January and left on Valentines day. We had a ton of fun, we went sledding, out to ice cream, shooting, and lots of other American activities that I take WAY too much advantage of! While they were here they had a friend come and visit, Sun (on the far left), and we made Valentines day sugar cookies. They had never done it before and were totally amazed at how they turned out. To the left is a picture of them receiving their certificates for completing there school work while they were here. I guess I should explain that better...They came over here for school to learn how Americans teach/learn. They were here for 4 weeks and went to SUU for 2 weeks and to East Elementary for the other two weeks.
Hanna and MJ left on Valentines day and it was sad to see they go. As for our first Valentines day as a married couple we really didn't do anything eventful. These are the flowers that Shane surprised me with and he made a wonderful breakfast for me on Sunday morning and then we spent the day laying around the house.As for the next two weeks of February we are training for the Moab half marathon/5 mile run. and so far we are doing ok....Shane is a running machine...me on the other hand not so much.

Our First Christmas

Ok so I am a little Slow!!!! but here are some of pics from out first Christmas together!!! and might I add that it was a totally awesome Christmas and 4 days of celebration! First we started our adventure on Christmas Eve day and drove to Roy, stopping in Payson of course to say a quick hi! We spent Christmas Eve with the Smith side of the family and it was tons of fun! We also spent all of Christmas day with the Smith side of the family and we were able to see all of the Dodge side of the family as well. It was a blast!!! The day after Christmas we managed to get our butts out of bed and head out to get some updated family pic which we haven't had in 10 years!

After the family pics we headed down to Payson where we had our Christmas with the Armstrong side of the family which was totally awesome! And they were so awesome because they waited to have their big turkey dinner with the
whole family there so that we could all be together! Now this was
first time since august that the Armstrong family had been together and the first time we had all been together in Payson! It was great!
After our two days in Payson we were able to head back up to Roy to celebrate my dad's 50th BIRTHDAY!!!! which was a blast!!!
We unfortunately had to leave all the family fun and head back to Cedar which was a sad sad day not to mention a horrible day to travel! It took us six and a half hours to get back when it usually takes 4!!! it was terrible!

Holiday Season!

Hello again!!! I am trying to do better on the blog I really am! Thanksgiving was....a week and a half ago? WHAT? this year is totally flying by 18 days til Christmas! WOW! Shane and I are way excited for our first Christmas together as a married couple....I cannot believe it is already here! and we have been married 6 months! It seems like yesterday I was stressing about when Shane was going to propose...now that was a year ago.
So I only have a few pic...and only one worthy to go up from Thanksgiving! and here it is! Right before we dug in and shove our faces full of yummy food! We had Thanksgiving at our house this year with the Armstrong side of the family. It was kinda nice to not have to travel anywhere and at the end of the day get to sleep in my own bed at night. We had tons of fun but we did miss the Smith/Rodriguez clan like crazy and can't wait to give those nephews big fat kisses!

We have a new edition to our family....no not a baby...WAY to soon for that! Shane and I have been talking about getting some sort of pet for quite sometime. we kept debating between a dog and a kitty. Well there were some free kittens listen in the pioneer shopper and so called, loaded up the car and headed to Paragonah to check it out....knowing we wouldn't come home with out one.........Her name is Snickers (it just came to us) and she is 11 weeks old now. She is so much fun and we love having her! Shane was a little hesitant cause he didn't want to leave her home alone all day...but in the end we are so glad that we got her!

As mentioned before we are both getting really excited for Christmas! Part of the fun is having to sneak around to buy/hide presents for each other with out the other finding out where or what you bought. I think that so far we have both done pretty well...I guess I speak for myself! I have no idea what I am getting for Christmas and I like it that way!

Halloween

Ok so this is pretty good for me! I am blogging and it hasn't been forever! Here are our Halloween Pics! not that we dressed up or anything cool but we sure did have a blast!! Shane and I were able to get front row Thriller tickets for the showing on Halloween !!! Pa Ha Ha! Before the show we went to dinner with some friend and while we waited for them to arrive we had some fun taking pics! At the show it was totally AWESOME!!! We weren't able to get any pics of the Jason, or any of the creepy ghouls but it was totally awesome! Maybe next year we will have to dress up but so far I don't think anything could make a better "first Halloween"!!! Now we are looking forward to our first Thanksgiving and CHRISTMAS is right around the corner!

ThE nEwLy WeD lIfE

Ok so even though there are very few people that view our blog...I have been told that it has been awhile since I have blogged! So here I go!
Shane and I are coming around the 5 month mark!! we are still in that newly wed phase where we absolutely love being with each other!!!! We are both work at the time and when we are not...well we are usually out having fun (without the stress of children), or having a very quiet day at home (again with out the stress of children)
There is really not a whole lot that goes on much other than that! The best days ever are Sundays when we get to sleep in until 10 am and then get up and go to church and feel the relief that comes from watching the parents chase there children while we know that we don't have to do that quite yet.
As for any other exciting adventures of life.....I am just about the end of recovering from having a my appendix along with a tumor taken out with my appendix. That was a horrible ordeal and I honestly wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy!
We just got back from a very loud and exciting weekend from seeing both the Smith/Rodriguez and Armstrong side of the family. Little Andrew went to a dance this weekend. Shane, Brandon, and Xander Man went to a UTES game. And Teresa and I had a craft day and had tons of fun!!!!

We Went to Shane's Cabin to celebrate the 4th as well as his Dad's Birthday!
We ate some T-Bone steaks and had tons of Sugar!!! (my kinda Party!!!)

We stayed the night up there which was tons of fun until the sleeping part came (SOME ONE SNORED ALL NIGHT!!! LOL) all in all it was a blast!

Shane and I are and officially have been married for a month and a day!!!! and I must say that I LOVE MARRIED LIFE!!! The wedding went good and things have pretty much settled down on both the Smith and Armstrong side of the family!!!! I am long overdue for an update so here are some wedding pics!

As for being Married we pretty much love it!!! Both of us...and can I say again that we LOVE being married!!! and everything is going well here!!!!

School/Work/Engagement/Nephew

Life is great right now! i just got dont with spring break which was one big whirlwind!!!! Shane and I came to Roy to visit the family and had the big meeting of the parents. We picked out our flowers and tuxes and finalized a few other little things here and there. Shane mean while had kidney stones (poor guy) and had to go to the hospital after he returned to Cedar City. But he is ok now!

School starts up again this week with only 5 weeks left!!!! Excitement much! this year is the year of graduations for our family! My Dad and I both graduate on May 2nd! Dad with his masters in business administration and I with my bachelors in criminal justice. Brandon graduates on May 9th with his bachelors in finance and economics. We are all excited about that!

Teresa is almost done! Baby Max is due April 15th but i think we are hoping that he comes a little soon! We are all excited about that ! even little Xander man!

Work is great! Shane is trying or should i say working his butt of to try and get on at Canyon View High school here in Cedar! he is also trying to get on at SouthWest plumbing supply part time! As for me....press on with the pawn shop!

Hey! this is my official first blog....thanks to Teresa and Brianna i am way curious as to how this all works! they have both told me that it is fun to keep track of people this way? As well as keeping them updated with the latest wedding plans. Which is still scheduled for June 5th, 2009! And Shane and I are WAYYYY excited! Everything is falling into place wonderfully! Also I am counting down the days until I get My new nephew and can't wait to see Xander again!
There is only 7 weeks of school left until I am done with my bachelors degree and i am stoked! school is cake this semester and I am loving it! the intership was done earlier this week! so that puts me at only 10 credit hours for the rest of the semester!
Well thats that! dunno what else to Say!
